The Village of Oak Park, Illinois is loaded with beautiful historic homes. It is perhaps best know for the work of architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Wright's home and studio was in Oak Park for the first twenty years of his career. This is where he and his associates developed the famous Prairie style design. The Frank Lloyd Wright designs are excluded from this collection of photographs. They can be found in the Wright collection below.
Many other well known architects like E.E. Roberts designed amazing homes that were built in Oak Park. The variety of architecture in this photo gallery includes Gothic style, Prairie style, Queen Anne style, Stick style, and Classical Revival style homes.
Oak Park was also the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway. The Hemingway home and museum are open to the public.
